FIRE is Angela’s breathtaking upcoming album and live musical show. Combining Angela’s ethereal voice with the energy and excitement of primal tribal rhythms, sweeping cinematic sounds, and stunning visual projections, the live show is an uplifting and energising experience. The recording and live show feature Angela’s original material plus new interpretations of traditional and modern Celtic songs, and also call upon other world music influences from Asia to the Middle East. Material re-worked includes songs previously performed by Clannad, Christy Moore, Simple Minds, The Corrs, Mary Black and many more. Angela has drawn on a wealth of tribal roots from many cultures including Japanese taiko drumming and Middle Eastern rhythms and sounds to create a cross-cultural musical and multimedia experience. Bringing ancient myths and stories back to life in intimate and emotionally raw moments only to sweep off into an epic adventure, FIRE is a truly unforgettable experience.
In 2010, Angela has performed preview shows at the Port Fairy Folk Festival, the Sydney Convention Centre and a special appearance on the main stage in Hyde Park for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations and parade. She is currently producing the final tracks for the album, which she aims to launch in late 2010.

Drawing on film and literary influences to weave stories from her own life into a rich emotional tapestry that would speak to a contemporary audience, Angela created Ophelia of the Spirits in 2008, taking the name from the character Ophelia in Shakespeare’s play Hamlet and Federico Fellini’s 1965 film Giulietta degli Spiriti (Juliet of the Spirits). Angela has released two EP’s as Ophelia of the Spirits since 2008, and has enjoyed substantial industry recognition. Awarded a JB Seed Jump Grant in 2009 for her second EP, “The Secret Garden”, her song “Shame” became an iTunes Single of the Week in March last year, and she was a finalist in the 2008 MusicOz Awards. Her self-penned songs swing from intimate acoustic textures to feisty Celtic-influenced piano rock, and her haunting delivery has been compared to artists including Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan and Loreena McKennitt.
You can buy the Ophelia of the Spirits CD’s from the DISCOGRAPHY section of this website, and they are also available on iTunes.
