I was recently really delighted to have one of my Ophelia of the Spirits songs, ‘Little Princess’ used in a documentary called ‘The Art of Walking’, which was distributed with The Age newspaper in Melbourne & the Sydney Morning Herald in Sydney. You can watch a trailer for the doco here:

Producing the Fire album

Here I am in full vocal swing for ‘Fire’ album recording… This was taken in my studio, right in front of my beautiful old John Broadwood & Sons piano – it was given to my grandma when she was a little girl and was painstakingly restored to greatness about 10 years ago! I love that piano!

Port Fairy Folk Festival 2010

I went to Port Fairy Folk Festival for the first time this year! We were performing there with my new show.

The highlight for me was definitely the fact that we got to play an acoustic show in the heritage-listed St John’s Church! It was amazing, and just topped off a weekend of incredible music.

My festival listening highlight: French-Canadian band Genticorum……Pascal’s foot-tapping fiddle-playing fun was awesome, and I’ve never heard a more entertaining sound check!

Poems for Piotr

I recently lent my voice to the music picture book ‘Poems for Piotr’, which was a collaboration between visual artist Lang Leav (Akina), composer Cyrus Meurant and myself. Lang drew all the illustrations and wrote some beautifully mournful poetry, Cyrus set the poems to music, and I performed the songs on the accompanying CD. Only 100 limited-edition copies were hand-bound by Lang – learn more and listen to music samples here.
