“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”
~Aldous Huxley, Music at Night and Other Essays
I’m not one for formal introductions, so let’s pretend we know each other already.
And, in a way, we do.
Because music, that mysterious mistress to whom I have devoted myself, is nothing more and nothing less than an expression of the creative mind and the human spirit.
Whether it’s working on an epic Hollywood film score, or leading a community workshop, I have seen the spontaneous joy, the inspiration, the perspiration, the determination to create which speaks to something universal in all of us – the creative spark.
Why do we do it?
Because deep inside we have something we are compelled to say. Because we want to fill our lives with beautiful things. Things we cannot touch, but only hear.
Because we want to come to know other people who are similarly throwing themselves off the cliffs of sense and sensibility into the jaws of terror and wonder in order to experience that moment in which nothing else matters.
So… May you listen, read, watch, connect and, most of all, enjoy.
Love, Angela
